Week Notes #4

Where to start this week?

Fun in the office

Monday and Tuesday were just fun days in the office. I spent my time mostly at reception getting in some time with Lily before she went on her week and a half holiday.

Sweltering Wednesday

A boiling work from home day and half the countries mobile phone and internet went down. At lunch time I went to collect a parcel without phone signal which was… interesting. Being completely out of contact with everyone is a bit disconcerting.

Woe is me

My mental health has been suffering for about a month now I think. I’ve been falling back into old anxiety traits like having to perform needlessly well at work and be friends with everyone to feel happy and that’s just not possible. This week I went full on emo and anxious for the rest of the week. I’ve never binge ate so many sweets and chocolates in a day as I did Thursday. From last Friday to this Friday too I had a 7 night streak of nightmares and I don’t usually tend to even remember my dreams at all. On Saturday I was just despondent. I was thinking about adding work friends on Facebook but I don’t know. I don’t think I’ve felt this bad in about 6 years and during that time I got divorced and diagnosed with a chronic disease and the pandemic happened which I think says a lot.

Work Anniversary

I had a work anniversary on Friday but it was a work from home day. I enjoyed the few congrats I got though I am a bit sassy in the work Slack so just posted this photo of Lieutenant Dan from Forrest Gump.

Turnaround

On Saturday afternoon I felt a little better and in the evening me and Thea went to get some chippies then came back to watch No Hard Feelings which was a very enjoyable film. And on Sunday our friends wanted to go to the beach so we went along too. I’ve not been in the sea much since moving over here but every time I have I’ve been knocked around and today was no exception. Think a rogue wave had me disappear for a whole 5 seconds at one point which was a little scary.

Exercise

I smashed out 154% of my exercise goal for the week so I feel pretty good about myself and an improvement on the 150% last week!

Hobbies

I’m trying to get into anything at the moment. I’ve enjoyed taking photos on my new phone but I’ve got a lot to learn about taking photos though I do enjoy the stupidly high zoom on offer. My partner’s brother is into photography and he really liked one of my photos so I took that as a win!

Weather

On Thursday night just as things were calming down for the evening… BAM. Thunderstorms. Huge fork lightning and very crackly rumbles of lightning. Did it clear the mugginess? Heck no. I went for a walk up the memorial walk on Sunday evening and I’m certain the air was mostly moisture. If it’s going to thunder can it please do its job?
