Making an archive on Wayback Machine 💽

Recently I had need to make a copy of my site on Wayback Machine. I’ve always thought that you were at the mercy of some sort of crawler when it came to getting a copy of your site on there but as it turns out it’s surprisingly painless.

  1. Head to your browser’s extension store and grab the Wayback Machine extension (I use Arc so here’s the Chrome version).
  2. Open the extension on your site and click the “Save Page Now” button.

That’s it, it’s that simple. So many site designs lost to time because I didn’t know how easy this was.
